NAS OS 4

Evolution of network attach storage (NAS) operating system to support 3rd party apps

Approach
I collaborated with the product line manager, software engineers, and other cross-functional team members to identify and specify features to be developed. I worked closely with support team members as the device was beta tested to resolve issues before release.

Challenges
Key team members were in different locations and time zones, so proactive and clear communication was key to removing roadblocks. The backlog of features was also large, so continual re-prioritization was critical to ensure the release met larger company goals.

Outcome
The streamlined operating system experience was received well by users and tech reviewers, and was promoted as a competitive advantage. The inclusion of 3rd party applications expanded the total available market supported devices could be sold to.
